History

History

While accumulating reliable technology and a proven track record, we have been writing the history of thermistors.

Our company traces its origins to the Japan Contact Research Institute, established on 13th August 1939, which specialised in manufacturing high-performance electrical contacts for aircraft. Subsequently, on 25th March 1944, Ohizumi Aviation Machinery Manufacturing Co., Ltd. was formally incorporated.

Following the war, the company was renamed Ohizumi Manufacturing Co., Ltd. in October 1945 and commenced production of electrical contacts for civilian applications. In February 1952, we commenced research and development work upon receiving a prototype order for thermistors from the Electrical Communications Laboratory of the then Ministry of Communications. Production of thermistors for telephone exchanges began in January 1955. For over fifty years since, we have dedicated ourselves to developing diverse temperature sensors based on our continuously advancing semiconductor ceramic technology, alongside expertise in metals, plastics, and glass, striving to deliver products of the highest quality.
